Wallenberg saved thousands of Hungarian. Jews from the Nazis and is believed to be still alive in a Soviet prison. The lawyers announced in the Jerusalem Post that they are seeking informa- tion about Wallenberg from any Israeli who may have seen him in the Soviet Union since World War II. Mollie Bank PARIS (JTA) — Yuri An- dropov, first secretary of the Soviet Communist Party, claims that imprisoned Jewish activist Anatoly Shcharansky has ended his hunger strike and is in "a satisfactory condition." The Soviet leader also hinted that Shcharansky's 13-year sentence might be reduced were it not for the international pressure campaign on his behalf. Those statements by An- dropov were published Monday in the French Communist Party organ L'Humanite, in a letter to Georges Marchais, secre- tary general of the party. The letter was An- dropov's reply to a re- quest by Marchais for in- formation about Shcharansky.
