Sophie's Choice' at Area Theaters "Sophie's Choice," the film adaptation of William Styron's novel, will open at area theaters this weekend. The movie, starring Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline, tells the story of an aspiring writer who falls in love with a Polish Catholic survivor of the Holocaust married to a Jewish intellectual. The American Red Cross is adding a nutrition course to its health services pro- gram and is seeking experi- enced dietitians, nut- ritionists, health educators or nurses to teach it. "Better Eating for. Better Health" is a course designed to teach individuals to apply the principles of nutrition to making wise personal food choices. training Instructor courses will be offered at the Red Cross training facility at 3456 Woodward. In- structor candidates must attend one of the following three-session courses: Saturday, Jan. 29 and Feb. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Jan. 26, Feb. 2 and 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or Feb. 15, 16 and 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Instruction and course materials will be provided free of charge.
