$6 Billion Cash Mark for Bonds

NEW YORK — Cash re-
ceipts of the Israel Bond
Organization since its in-
ception in 1951 passed the
$6 billion mark following a
nationwide cash collection
effort in honor of Sam
Rothberg, its general
chairman, for his 40 years of
service to Israel.

The special campaign,
which began Nov. 1, pro-
duced $91,289,000 in cash.
The $6 billion cash figure
was reached on Dec. 21.

Cash receipts of the Bond
organization for the 1982
campaign are expected to
exceed $500 million.

Share with me your moments, as we are given whatever time
together.

Share with me your moments of happiness and pleasure,
your secret thoughts and treasures yet to be found. Let's find
whatever there is to be found . . . Together.

Moment to moment, seeming like a small craft upon a sea of
ships, seeming so minute against the hands of time.

Like a grain of salt from a pillar, what I feel from my heart,
that I want to give to you only wanting the same in return
means more to me than any materialistic object that can be
obtained.

SAM & JERRY FLOR91

that the 97th Congress
failed to enact the Immigra-
tion Reform and Control
Act. Speaking on behalf of
the AJCommittee, Howard
Friedman, chairman of the
board of governors, urged
that "this much-needed
measure be considered one
of the 98th Congress' prior-
ity agenda items."
"While recognizing that
the measure is not perfect in
all respects, the American
Jewish Committee has sup-
ported it," he explained,
"because, among other pro-
visions, it rejected a single
numerical limitation for the
entry of refugees into the'
United States, retained
generous provisions for
family reunification, and
provided for a fair legaliza-
tion and amnesty system to
regularize the status of
aliens who entered the
country illegally before cer-
tain dates."
