in America. At a local
gourmet-style Chinese eat- I
ery in 1974, he was the first
person to introduce lemon
chicken . . . taking the idea
from Hong Kong where they I
have something similar
. . . only using the entire I
chicken instead of just I
white meat . . . Frank's ex- L =
pertise with this dish is
truly delightful and tastes
of experience . . . He was
also chef at a leading
northwest Chinese eatery.
Golden Bowl, opened
Nov. 14, is one of the very
few places that have a lamb
section on its menu . . .
Szechuan Lamb, Mongolian
Lamb and lamb with green
onions.
Hate to dwell on the
former New Garden's
bad luck, but if they had
served food piping hot
like Golden Bowl, it
would have been a giant
step forward.
About the service at Gol-
den Bowl . . . One of the
finest young oriental wait-
ers works there . . . Tran
Lou (just call him Lou) . . .
He's been at the new eatery
since it opened . . . working
Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday evenings . . .
while rest of week at an
eastside place . . . How-
ever, he's so good and in de-
mand, won't be long before
Lou will be at Golden Bowl
seven-evenings-a-week
. . . During the day Lou is
studying to be an electrical
engineer.
