light.

thony's for informal dining
with a flair of relaxed
enjoyment as one looks out
the huge windows and
watches people swimming
in the European - style
lobby, or sip drinks at tables
surrounded by greenery
that makes for an outdoors
setting inside.
Anthony's is also where
people bring their food on
Sunday . . . after going
through othe line of sump-
tuous brunch buffet de-
lights (10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
set up on an array of tables
in the atrium-like lobby just
outside of Anthony's.
Behind chafing dishes
in the atmosphere splen-
dor ... are chef assistant

Sheraton-Oaks Execu-
tive Chef Remy Berdy .. .
David Fryd (pronounced
Freed), Rick Ormsby,
Jeff Harrell and Bruce
Stewart.
While we were there re-
cently, Joel Gordon, chef du
provision, was overseeing
the brunch party given for
ex-Detroiter Robert Brick-
ner on receiving a PhD de-
gree from Wayne . . . He is
the uncle of Joel's wife,
Marsha . . . and came here
to write a final thesis for his
degree . . . Bob and wife
Faye live in Cleveland .. .
and are grandparents.

Standing majestically
above the Sunday brunch
table is a beautiful ice carv-
ing made by Chef Remy .. .
that changes each week.
It's the kind of brunch
that combines elegance
with good down-to-earth
eating . . . Rosebud carvings
from carrots, zucchini and
yellow squash are filled
with delicious shrimp
mousse . . . and the fabulous
pastries prepared by Execu-
tive Pastry Chef Chris Galli
and his assistants, Mike
Baugh and Jennifer "Bub-
bles" Turner, are superb.
