Peace Mission
for Liz Taylor

LOS ANGELES (JTA) —
Movie queen Elizabeth
Taylor announced that she
is embarking on a 10-day
peace mission to the
Mideast, during which she
said she will meet with
Premier Menahem Begin of
Israel and President Amin
Gemayel of Lebanon.
"I want to bring a sense of
sincere friendship between
myself and the people of
America to Israel," Miss
Taylor said. She also said, "I
want to try to create peace
between Israel and Jordan."
The internationally
famous actress pointed out
that she "always loved
going to Israel" and hoped
that she could help re-
vitalize Israel's tourist in-
dustry and bring "its friends
back to the country."
Miss Taylor, who con-
verted to Judaism in 1959,
two months before she mar-
ried Eddie Fisher, said that
during her Mideast trip she
will visit a Lebanese or-
phanage and attend a New
Year's eve ball in Tel Aviv.

to Visit Honduras

TEL AVIV (JTA) — De-
fense Minister Ariel Sha-
ron, who returned Sunday
night from visits to the U.S.
and Honduras, disclosed
that an Israeli military mis-
sion would leave for the
Central American country
next month but denied re-
ports that he had signed any
arms sales deals with Hon-
duran officials during his
brief stay in Tegucigalpa,
the capital, last week.

According to Sharon, the
military mission to Hon- -
duras is part of a general
program to strengthen Is-
rael's military cooperation
with Latin American coun-
tries.
