THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS N. Rosenfeld, 79, Chairman of Jacobson's Stores Dies — 1 1) Nathan Rosenfeld, chairman of the board of Jacobson's, died Dec. 3 at age 79. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Rosenfeld was graduated from the Philadelphia Art School and the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He began his merchandis- ing career with the Wash- ington, D.C.-based Hecht Co., where he was director of research and retail mer- chandise manager. He left Hecht's to join Allied Stores in New York and Cincin- nati. His affiliation with the Jacobson's stores began in 1939 when the Rosen- feld family bought three Max Kruger Max M. Kruger, a retired senior design engineer at Ford Motor Co., died Dec. 4 at age 64. Born in Regina, Sask., Mr. Kruger lived 59 years in the Detroit area. He was graduated from Cass Tech, Ford Tech, and GM Tech and held a degree from Wayne State Univer- sity. He taught math and drafting at Cass Tech. Mr. Kruger was a master Mason for more than 30 years in Perfection Lodge of the Masons. He also was a 32nd degree Shriner, past master, in- structor and past worthy patron of the Purity Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He also was a member of the board of Cong. Beth Achim. He is survived by his wife, Harriet; two sons, Robert J. of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Jonathan A. of Rolling , , - Meadows, Ill.; a daughter, Barbara Jill of Northbrook, Ill.; a brother, Charles of Montclair, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) Moss; and three grandsons. ‘P c--, Freda Moss Freda Moss, a member of Jewish communal organ- izations, died Dec. 6 at age 71. Born in Sherbrooke, Que., Mrs. Moss was a member of National Council of Jewish Women and Hadassah. Dorothy Chatlin Dorothy Chatlin, secre- tary to Rabbi Leon Fram at Temple Israel, died Dec. 5 at age 80. Born in Honor, Mich., Mrs. Chatlin was an honor- ary member of the temple. Folksinger Dies NEW YORK — Stuart David Cohen, better known as folksinger David Blue, died Dec. 2 at age 41. An actor and folksinger, Mr. Cohen was part of the Greenwich Village circle that included singer- songwriters Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton and Eric An- derson. He made eight re- cord albums and was a par- ticipant in Dylan's "Rolling Thunder Revue" in 1976. Conductor Dies NEW YORK — Robert Zeller, a conductor of ballet, symphony and operatic or- chestras in the U.S. and Europe, died Dec. 5 at age 63.
