Dr. Resnikoff is an American social worker with over a quarter of a cen- tury of professional service. Named to his post shortly after he joined the Israel staff in 1969, Dr. Resnikoff came to Israel in 1966 to launch the first YMHA in that country under the au- spices of the World Federa- tion of YM and YWHAs. Before leaving the United States, Dr. Re- snikoff served on the na- tional staff of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and the Na- tional JWB. Prior to that he served in a number of executive posts in Jewish community centers and welfare funds in a number of eastern com- munities. After he earned his bachelor's degree, with a major in English literature, at Brooklyn College, he earned a master's degree in social work at the New York School of Social Work, a master's degree in sectarian social work at the Hartford Seminary Foundation, a master's degree in informal education and a doctorate in community services at Columbia University. During World War II, Dr. Resnikoff was a captain in the United States Air Force. Dr. Resnikoff has done original research in training leaders to com- bat anti-Semitism and in the development of Jewish welfare services in biblical and talmudic times, and has translated works from Maimonides into English. In a voluntary capacity, Dr. Resnikoff has served in the U.S. on the boards of di- rectors of educational and religious institutions, both. on the local and regional levels.
