Israelis Plan Hanuka Party at Jewish Center

A Hanuka party spon-
sored by the Israeli Corn-
munity of Detroit will take
place 8:45 p.m. Saturday at
the main Jewish Commu-
nity Center.
According to Ruth Levy,
chairman of the event, the
party will include a

candlelighting ceremony,
communal singing of tradi-
tional Hanuka songs and Is-
raeli songs, dancing to the
music of the Avi Ben Zev
Band, and a dance contest
with prizes.
Israeli wine and hors
d'oeuvres will be served.

Dessert will include the
traditional "souvganiot"
(jelly doughnuts) for
Hanuka, fruit and hot
beverages.
The Hanuka party is open
to the Israeli community.
