cause until final victory, but
he urged the Arab 'nations
to recognize Israel's right to
exist.
The official New China
News Agency said that the
party leader, Hu Yaobang,
made the remarks in wel-
coming an Arab League
delegation, led by King
Hussein of Jordan, that
came to China to explain
the league's Middle East
peace proposal.
It said Hu told the visitors
that "the disastrous effects
of Israeli aggression and
expansion must be elimi-
nated and the national
rights and dignity of the
Palestinian people restored,
while recognizing the Is-
raeli people's right to peace-
ful existence."
The agency quoted Hu
as expressing hope that
the Arabs would
strengthen their unity,
win as many countries
and people as possible to
their side "and distin-
guish the belligerent
forces in Israel from the
Israeli people."
Chinese Prime Minister
Zhao Ziyang and King Hus-
sein agreed that Israel must
withdraw from Lebanon
and occupied Arab land, and
that the Palestinians must
have a homeland and right
to self-determination.
The Arab delegation vis-
ited China following a simi-
lar trip to Moscow.

TEL AVIV (ZINS) — The
National Religious Party's
Hatzofe newspaper says
that U.S. aid to Israel is not
charity. It said, "Without
the existence of a strong Is-
rael, the United States
would have to invest
greater resources to insure
the interests of the Free
World in this region."
