Israel Gets
Boost at U-M
The Union of Students for
Israel (USI), an indepen-
tent student group affil-
iated with the Bnai Brith
Hillel Foundation at The
University of Michigan, has
been working actively
toward improving positive
attitudes and actions
toward Israel in the campus
community.
USI is comprised of about
250 members and many of
its active members have re-
ceived formal training from
the Anti-Defamation
League of Bnai Brith, the
American Israel Public Af-
fairs Committee and the
American Zionist Youth
Federation.
Literature on cultural,
historical and political as-
pects of Israel is distributed
on a regular basis at the
university's Fishbowl, a
centrally located area
where various student
organizations maintain in-
formation tables and an-
swer questions.
The USI meets twice a
month on Tuesday eve-
nings for informal Israel
study group sessions.
The USI also actively
promotes programs of
study, work and aliya.

NEW YORK — Yeshiva
University's Teachers Insti-
tute for Men, founded more
than 60 years ago as the
first American Hebraic
studies program leading to
a diploma, will become the
Isaac Breuer College of
Hebraic Studies in honor of
a major contribution from
New York financier and
philanthropist Hermann
Merkin, Breuer's son-in-
law.
Dr. Isaac Breuer (1883-
1946) was an intellectual
leader in German Jewry, an
attorney, and a founder of
the Po'alei- Agudat Israel
Orthodox political organ-
ization.
Dr. Norman Lamm,
president of Yeshiva U.,
also paid tribute to the late
Jakob Michael, who con-
tributed $1.25 million in
19 to name the school in
memory of his late wife,
Erna Sondheimer Michael.
The Gift
That Will Touch
Her Heart
Gift giving is something
very special, personal,
something that touches the
heart. So is a European
facial from Kitty Wagners'.
They both tell her how
special she is. A perfect
gift, one that says "I really
care," a gift that lets her
pamper herself in a very
personal way.
So this year give her the gift
that's as loving and personal
as she is. A gift that shows
her how special she really is.
A gift certificate from .. .
