Council has developed a
brochure entitled "De-
cember Dilemma" which
outlines the Supreme Court
Ruling on separation of
church and state and also of-
fers suggestions on the atti-
tudes Jewish parents can
assume when faced with
their own "December Di-
lemmas," such as when
children are asked to appear
in Christmas programs in
public schools..
Additionally, the bro-
chure defines what is and
is not appropriate .when
religion does find its way
into the public schools.
The brochure is being dis-
tributed to local Hebrew
schools and synagogues:
The Jewish Community
Council urges that parents
who encounter problems
concerning holiday celebra-
tions in the public schools
should call the council,
962-1880. All information
will be kept in confidence.
