" I II Supplement to The Jewish News :11 1:14J1 Message from Judge A vern Cohn President, Jewish Welfare Federation = 7- The Detroit Jewish community can take great pride in its continuing tradition of care and concern for the elderly. The Jewish Welfare Federation agency which has served our senior citizens longer than any other has now become a senior citizen itself. Over the years, the Jewish Home for Aged has exemplified the best of our heritage in performing the mitzvah of honoring our parents. The development of the Home into a nationally respected institution with the latest in geriatric services is a source of pride to all of us, as is its readiness to embark on new and exciting ventures that will have profound impact on our aged population. This senior agency has been most cooperative in its relations with the other cFederation agencies concerned with the well-being of the elderly. In future years, with the development of the new Edward I. and Freda Fleischman Residence and Jewish Federation Apartments complex in West Bloomfield, we anticipate further enhancement of this inter-agency cooperation. Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav said that a country's prosperity can be gauged by its treatment of the aged. If that is the case, our Jewish community is growing in prosperity, and we may all partake of its riches. BOARD OF DIRECTORS OFFICERS: Marvin H.
