THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Campaign Beneficiaries Facing Shortages 5 Open Cash Drive Allied Jewish Campaign beneficiaries are facing se- vere budget cutbacks and an intensive cash collection period is being mounted through the month of De- cember. Campaign Chairman Joel Tauber explained that the major areas in which com- mitments are needed im- mediately are pledges and payments for the 1982 and 1983 Campaigns, and cash for the special Israel Emer- gency Fund and Detroit's Project Renewal. "The next month will be a time to back up our prom- ises with our dollars," said Tauber. Tuna Fish Pie By NORMA BARACH (Copyright 1982, JTA, Inc.) 1 13 oi. can tuna 2 cups mashed potatoes salt, pepper 1 fried onion Legg 2 tbsps. butter 2 tbsps. flour 3/4 cup hot milk 1 oz. shredded cheese Add egg to mashed potatoes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix in fried onion. Lightly grease a 9-inch pie pan and pat in potato to make a crust. Melt butter, blend in flour. Then slowly stir in hot milk. Bring to a boil, stirring all the time. Remove from flame. Flake tuna and add to sauce. Pour over potato pie crust. Top with shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees until crust is brown. Serves 4-6.
