Romanian Tax
to Halt Emigres

JERUSALEM (JNI) —
Despite intensive diploma-
tic contacts with Romania
in recent weeks,
Bucharest's announcement
of tough new monetary de-
mands on emigrants left
Jerusalem surprised and
shocked. The high tax in
foreign currency is expected
to bring a halt to Jewish
emigration.

Zionist Executive chairman
Arye Dulzin, nearly 1,500
Romanian Jews have made
aliya in 1982, and
thousands more from

Reconstructionist Campus Is Open

WYNCOTE, Pa. — The
Reconstructionist Rabbini-
cal College dedicated
new campus last week in
the Philadelphia suburb of
Wyncote.
The college opened this
semester in the new facility,
a 36,000-square foot man-

sion built in 1922. Located
on four wooded acres, the
campus will provide the col-
lege with the facilities and
growing room it needs, ac-
cording to Peter A. Kessner,
chairman of the college's
board of Governors, who
chaired the dedication.
