Negotia- tions with city governments and utilities are proceeding and we hope - they will be completed soon. The planning and con- struction are more compli- cated than originally thought and will, therefore, take more time than we envisioned. Our progress compares very favorably with other communities. Bloomfield, Mich. 8514499 Project Eruv * * * Costa Rica Needs Tourism Editor, The Jewish News The unfounded gossip of Friday, November 19, 1982 51 Disc Jockey "The Best Music in Town" Parties, Dances & Special Occasions instability in Costa Rica must be put to rest–im- mediately. Costa Rica is a vacation prardise, isolated from the internal fratricide of its neighbors, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador. However, it is easy to understand how people can be misinformed and misled when a gem of gentility lies in a sea of turmoil. We were so impressed by the political stability of Costa Rica as well as its high level of literacy, and the quality of its hotels, res- taurants and tourist facilities. - Costa Rica's president, Luis Monge, is married to a Jewess, and Doris Monge is most visible in the affairs of the total community. The Jewish community of San Jose, numbering approx- imately 1,000 persons, is knowledgeable," vibrant, and politically alert. Costa Rica traditionally votes with the United States and Israel and in the UN, and is the only country to have moved its embassy to Jerusalem, in open de- fiance of the Vatican. Costa Rica is historically a democratic republic, with no army or navy protecting its borders or shorelines. It is poor and without natural resources. And its teachers substantially outnumber its policemen. Costa Rica needs in- creased tourism from the United States. 546-5797-544-0454 LIGHTS - SOUND EXPERIENCE Happy Thanksgiving .. . from the makers of Speas Apple Juice Products Enjoy your gobbler, with all the fixin's and don't spare the drinks, especially the SPEAS APPLE JUICE SPEAS APPLE CIDER SPEAS NATURAL APPLE JUICE (with fruit pulp) certified Kosher and Pareve by the METROPOLITAN KASHRUTH COUNCIL OF MICH Rabbi Jack Goldman, Admin. made from a delicate blending of eight of Michigan's finest apple varieties, squeezed at the moment of their peak. in flavor, at Michigan's apple capital, -Fremont, Michigan "the prince of juices, fit for a King!"
