year-long study by Federa-
tion — is creating efficient,
low-cost service to local
community service organ-
izations. In addition to those
agencies currently receiv-
ing transportation services,
the committee is now
equipped to serve syna-
gogues and other groups
through the newly-
reorganized community
transportation system.
"Our aim is service, not
profit-making," Lucow said.
Most of the Federa-
tion's member agencies
are already involved. For
example, the Jewish
Home for the Aged re-
ceives help in repairing
its vehicles. Jewish Voca-
tional Services has ser-
vicing and maintenance
help with their trucks,
and transportation is
provided for the JVS
Senior Citizens Volun-
teer Corps. Buses are
provided for clients of
Sinai Hospital's out-
patient group psychiatric
unit. The Jewish Com-
munity Center uses
transportation services
for the summer day camp
program.
