Junior Division Plans Campaign Events
Jonathan Livny, former
attorney general for Judea
and Samaria, will be the
guest speaker for the Junior
Division Women of the
Jewish Welfare Federation
at a meeting on behalf of the
1983 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign and Israel Emergency
Fund 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Livny, a veteran of Is-
rael's Defense Forces,
served in the Six-Day War
and Yom Kippur War. Dur-
ing the recent war in Leba-
non, he was the army
liaison to families of men
killed in action.
At age 21, Livny became
the youngest person to be-
come a lawyer in Israel. He
is a graduate of Hebrew
University in Jerusalem
and studied at the Univer-
sity of Pennsylvania Law
School.
He has served in the
Judge Advocate's office
as chief prosecutor and
has represented Israel at
various international
conferences. In addition,
he was assistant to the
minister of tourism, and
then legal adviser to the
Knesset.
James A. Safran is the
president of the Junior Di-
vision. Marjorie Werber is
Campaign chairman for the

women, and vice chairmen
are Linda Etkin, Susarl
Wiener and Julie Zussman.
Diane Ash, Julie Fishman,
Betsy S. Heuer, Florie
Hochberg, Carol Kaczan-
der, Phyllis Klar and Shari
Levin are serving as associ-
ate chairmen.
The meeting will include
a cocktail reception.
The Junior Division Men
will have a similar meeting
7:30 p :m. Nov. 22 at Adat
Shalom.
The speaker will be
Howard Stone, national
director of Overseas
Programs, United Jewish
Appeal. Stone joined
UJA in 1971 as national
young leadership direc-
tor. He lived in Israel for
several years and was an
adviser to the Israeli gov-
ernment.
Norman D. Ash and Mark
Y. Segal are co-chairmen for
the men, and Gerald 0.
Brody and Douglas Etkin
are vice chairmen. Group
chairmen are Martin Gene,
Robert Jackier and Bernard
Kent.
