LONDON — The late
Mrs. Alice Ivy. Hay has be-
queathed part of her
L250,000 ($450,000) for-
tune to Aberdeen Univer-
sity to fight anti-Semitism,
the London Jewish
Chronicle reported.
Mrs. Hay, who died last
August, was the widow of
Major Malcolm Hay, author
of "The Christian Roots of
Anti-Semitism," a study re-
cently re-issued by the
Anti-Defamation League of
Bnai Brith.
The will specified a be-
quest of L20,000 ($36,000)
to the university, with an
additional L10,000
($18,000) to be added if
plans to erect a memorial
fountain fall through, ac-
cording to the Chronicle.

An industrial pilot plant for
a revolutionary energy sys-
tem to produce electricity
from heated liquid- metal,
now being constructed at
Ben-Gurion University of
the Negev, will be opened
next spring.
The only plant in the
world to utilize the
magneto-hydrodynamic
liquid metal system will fol--
low several decades of
Soviet and U.S. attempts to
implement the principle.
The Israeli project, under
the supervision of Soviet
immigrant Prof. Herman
Branover, is the fruit of five
years of cooperation be-
tween the Israeli Energy
Ministry, American Ar-
gonne National
Laboratories and the
British-Israel Solmecs
Corp.
