Michigan's first camping
club to promote Jewish fel-
lowship for camping
families, will celebrate its
10th anniversary at a reu-
nion dinner 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at
the Sveden House, Far-
mington.

The Shalom Campers
were founded in October
1971 by Mr. and Mrs.
Charles (Marlene) Toby. By
the end of the Shalom Cam-
pers' first camping season,
there were so many families
on a waiting list that the
Chai Campers were
founded. The following year
the Mazel Campers were
formed.
The Shalom Campers
camp April through October
plus the holiday weekends

at campgrounds within a
100-mile radius of Detroit
the second weekend of each
month.
