Folk Concert
in Southfield

Opera Lecture
at Cranbrook

Canadian folk singer Grit
Laskin will perform 8 p.m.
Saturday at the Southfield
Civic Center.
Laskin, a featured per-
former with Toronto's
Friends of Fiddler's Green,
will play the guitar, mando-
lin and accordion while
singing traditional and
original compositions.
There is a charge. For in-

The second lecture in
Cranbrook's four-part
"Overture to Opera" series
will be held 8 p.m. Monday
at the Cranbrook School
music building.
Dr. Wallace Peace, of the
Michigan Opera Theater,
will lecture on "Figaro,
Main Character in Three
Operas in Three Centuries."
