Esser will help celebrate
our birthday (they didn't

Detroit's first showing of
"They're Playing Our Song"
by Neil Simon, with music
of Marvin Hamlisch . . . It'll
be a 10-week run . . . Thurs-
days and Sundays.
Years back, Nancy and

which is given only to
select companies, is ex-

dinner super bargain at Irv-
ing's, Greenfield and 11

last Friday.

IN 1952 HARRY
TYNER opened the first

Checker Bar-B-Q on Brush
St. in downtown Detroit .. .
serving a unique style of
barbecued ribs and chicken
. . . Checker soon became
famous . . . building a repu-
tation with high-quality
food prepared in the tradi-
tional and time-honored
methods . . . Today, more
than half-a-century and
three generations of the
Tyner family later, Checker
is still preparing authentic
barbecued fare with the
same methods and com-
mitment to quality that was
established by Harry Tyner
so long ago.
Marge Tyner continues
the Checker tradition at its
present carry-out locale
. . . in Lincoln Center,
Greenfield and 10 1/2 Mile
Rd.

BLOOMFIELD
CANOPY, Orchard Lake
