Beth Achim Israel Bond Tribute Dinner. The event will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 14 at the synagogue. • Dinner co-chairmen are Leonard Herman and Max Nosanchuk; congregational president is George J. Rossman. A tribute com- mittee is now in formation. Mrs. Nosanchuk, a South- field resident and a member of Beth Achim and its sis- terhood, was born Pearl Keperwas in Poland and emigrated with her family to Detroit in 1913. Mrs. Nosan- chuk is the mother of three children: Harold M. Nosan, William Nosanchuk and Sydell Schubot, and has eight grandchildren. Nosanchuk Mrs. owned and operated the Oak-Le Beauty Shop in Detroit from 1933 to 1954. She has been active in communal endeavors since the early 1930s. She was honored by the Women's Division in 1970 as a "Woman of Valor," and was presented the "Shalom Award" at a Jewish Na- tional Fund — Israel Bond luncheon in 1972. Mrs. Nosanchuk is cur- rently special gifts chair- man for Women of JNF and its Israel Bond chairman. She formerly served two terms for Women of JNF as president and in 1969 established a nahala (75 dunams of land) in Kibutz Gonen in Israel. She has also donated a forest in the U.S. Freedom Forest in Israel in memory of her husband. In 1963, as JNF fund- raising chairman, she es- tablished the "Pillars of Courage" philanthropic project in Mishmar Hayarden in the Galilee. In 1978, she was honored at a dinner in support of the Shaare Zedek Medical Cen- ter in Jerusalem, where she established a reception room in the Dialysis Unit and is named as a founder of that center. She is also a founder of the Lubavitch Education Center in Far- mington Hills. Mrs. Nosanchuk holds life membership in Hadas- sah, JNF, Bar-Ilan Univer- sity, American Mizrachi Women, Jewish Home for the Aged, Pioneer Women, United Hebrew Schools, Shaare Zedek Hospital and Ladies of Yeshivath Beth Yehudah.
