Intelligence Data

NEW YORK — News-
week magazine said this
week that the U.S. has ex-
pressed interest in Israel's
offer of sharing intelligence
on Soviet weaponry cap-
tured during the war in
Lebanon. However, the U.S.
wants no strings attached.
Newsweek claims that
Washington believes Israel
will automatically expect to
be provided with any new
systems or techniques de-
veloped from Israel's battle
data. The magazine says
Washington won't violate
arms export laws or try to
circumvent Congressional
control over arms sales.
