Involved in numerous philanthropic and service groups, for many years Les- ter chaired the District 29 benefit drives for the Michi- gan and Northwestern Ohio Kidney Foundations. He is a member of the Board of Trustees, National Kidney Foundation of Michigan and is on the Board of Direc- tors of the United Way of Michigan, United Founda- tion, Hiawatha Youth Camp and the Downriver Guidance Clinic. Lester and his wife, Mary, live in Rockwood, Michigan. They are the parents of five children and are members of the Calvary Baptist Church in Southgate.
