Slobin will speak in Yiddish and will be accom- panied by a Yiddish singer. His topic will be "How the Fiddler Got on the Roof." Slobin received his PhD from the University of Michigan in 1969. Their appearances will be co-sponsored by the Bnai Brith Men's and Women's Councils and the Anti- Defamation League. Their topic will be "Where Are We Now?" Slobin has taught at Wes- leyan University since 1971, where he is associate professor of music. * * * Puppet Show for Children At 2 p.m. Nov. 14, "The PuppeTwips," Janet and Linda Herman, will per- form "Meshka the Kvetch," a puppet show based on a Jewish folk tale. The pro- gram is recommended for children aged 5-8. - Since May of 1975, work- ing only by referral, the PuppeTwins have per- formed over 700 shows. Janet and Linda have been members of the— Detroit Puppeteer's Guild since 1975. in 1976 they joined Puppeteers of America.
