Rabin to Keynote Technion Dinner Here

The Detroit Chapter of
the American Technion
Society will present former
Israel Prime Minister Yit-
zhak Rabin as guest
speaker at its 34th annual
dinner 6 p.m. Nov. 11 at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.

Rabin is the current oppo-
sition leader of Israel. A
sabra, Rabin was educated
in Israel. Upon graduation,
he enlisted in the Palmach.
This began a military
career lasting 27 years. By

for Novelist

Novelist Shirley Lord
(Anderson), whose novel
"Golden Hill" (Crown Pub-
lishers) already attained
considerable acclaim in
literary circles, will be in-
troduced to this community
by her friends, Mr. and Mrs.
A. Alfred Taubman at a by-
invitation-only cocktail re-
ception in the Detroit Club,
6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Born in London, Mrs. An-
derson began leer career as a
journalist at age 17. By the
time she left England in
1968, she had become, at
one time or another, the
woman's editor for all three
London evening newspap-
ers.
In New York, she was a
senior editor for Harper's
Bazaar and became vice
president of Helena
Rubenstein and is currently
director of special projects
for Vogue magazine.
This is her first novel.
