Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Rubinoff was retired for the past seven years. She leaves a son, Dr. M. Lawrence of Woodland Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Rita) Mermels- tein; two brothers, Robert Fleiss of San Clemente, Rose R. Rose Rose R. Rose, who was employed at Robert Rose Jewelers in Rochester, died Sept. 24 at age 71. Born in Duquesne, Pa., Mrs. Rose was a member of Temple Beth El and Women's American ORT. Joseph Friedman NEW YORK (JTA) — Joseph Friedman, long- time financial secretary of the Newark Sholom Aleichem branch of the Farband-Labor Zionist Al- liance in Spring Valley, N.Y., died Sept. 13. He was 75. He was the father of David Friedman, Washing- ton bureau chief of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Born in Poland, Joseph Friedman was active in the Histadrut, Israel Bonds and the Jewish •National Fund. Calif., and Milton L. Fleiss of Hawthorne, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Max (Augusta) Trager, Mrs. Philip (Mil- dreth) Rubinoff and Mrs. Morris (Esther) Shrager; and seven grandchildren. Sarah Goldberg Sarah J. Goldberg, a member of Jewish women's organizations, died Sept. 27 at age 89. Born in Traverse City, Mich., Mrs. Goldberg was a member of Hadassah, Women's American ORT and Brandeis University National Women's Commit- tee.
