Tzimmes Recipe

4 cups carrots
1 tbsp. barley
3/4 cup grated apple
3 tbsps. mayonnaise
3/4 cup water
1 /2 tsp. salt
2 tsps. brown sugar
Combine all ingredients in a
saucepan. Cover and cook
over low heat for 2 hours or
until barley is soft. Watch care-
fully while cooking and add
more water if necessary.
Serves 6.
