Stuart J. Rogoff has been
appointed educational di-
rector of the newly formed
Independent Hebrew High.
Rogoff has taught for the
United Hebrew Schools for
many years and has been
affiliated with the religious
schools of Cong.. Shaarey
Zedek and Cong. Beth
AHM.
He also has been the
Judaic programming direc-
tor for the Jewish Commu-
nity Center Day Camp and
has worked at Camp
Tamarack.
Rogoff holds a BA de-
gree in history and
English from Wayne
State University.
The Independent Hebrew
High will conduct weekend
retreats, youth Shabat ob-
servances, holiday celebra-
tions, a monthly dinner-
speaker series and class
projects and discussions.
Students at the 'school
will receive a complimen-
tary membership at Adat
Shalom Synagogue's
United Synagogue Youth
group and receive credit
toward confirmation at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Registration is still being
taken for the classes which
will begin 6:30 p.m. Wed-
nesday at the main Jewish
Community Center in West

CJF Meeting ,
Hosts Detroiters

A number of Detroiters
took an active part in the
recent Council of Jewish
Federations board and
committee meetings held in
New York. Martin E. Cit-
rin, CJF president and past
president of Detroit's
Jewish Welfare Federation,
chaired the opening day's
plenary session on the Mid-
dle East situation.
Other communal leaders
who participated were
Mandell L. Berman, Avern
Cohn, Dr. Paul C. Feinberg,
Max M. Fisher, Dr. Conrad
L. Giles, Carolyn Green-
berg, Robert H. Naftaly,
Mark E. Schlussel, Jane
Sherman and George M.
Zeltzer.
