ago he visited Israel and
met his relatives in Holon
and Bat Yam. It was not
difficult to visit Israel. He
liked it and was well re-

He also visited
Jerusalem.
Sama's father said it
would be a problem to find a
Jewish bride for his son.
Sama insisted he would like
to marry an Israeli girl. If he
could find a suitable and
pretty girl he would even be
ready to settle in Israel.
Once there will be peace be-
tween Israel and Lebanon it
would be no problem to
travel between the two
countries.
In the Lebanese town of
Bahamdoun the Jewish

the Habadniks while
Hasidic songs were played
over the loudspeakers

passed by and asked the

before darkness fell.
The Israeli soldiers
noticed a man, his wife and
their children standing
nearby and listening to the
Jewish Phlangist's story. As
it turned out, they were a
Lebanese Jewish family.
The father, a textile ex-
porter told the soldiers
that his son will have his
Bar Mitzva within two
weeks. There are also
other Jewish families
and a synagogue in
Bahamdoun, but his
son's Bar Mitzva Will be
celebrated at the Western
Wall in Jerusalem. The
entire family will go to
Jerusalem for this occa-
sion.
Sama told us that in his
soldier's book his national-
ity is registered as Israeli.
In the eyes of the Lebanese
Christians, every Jew is an
Israeli. Sama tried to ex- s.
plain the difference, but
without success.
