Blus- tein, left, and plant management carpenter John Thomson discuss plans for building a sukka in the hospital's courtyard. Will be treated to a piece of apple and a package of honey. All Jewish patients who wish it will be. able to hear the shofar sounded and re- ceive individual religious care on Sunday. And, for the second year in a row, patients who are enough will be able to eat their meals in a sukka during Sukkot. The sukka, which will be constructed by the plant management de partment and decorated by volunteers, from the ShaareST Zedek Junior Con- gregation, will also be used by hospital employees and medical staff. "Giving Jews an opportu- nity to practice their faith even while in the hospital is something we're proud to do," said Sinai's executive vice president, Irving A. Shapiro. Sinai's Chaplain, Rabbi Allan M. Blustein, said providing patients a touch of home during the High Holy Day season helps raise their morale. Rabbi Blustein, in coop- eration with the hospital's Audiovisual Services De- partment, has prepared an informational_ video tape about Rosh Hashana, which will be aired on the hospi- tal's closed circuit channel several times through Thursday. A similar tape about Sukkot will be aired on the closed circuit channel between Oct. 1 and 7. - * * * Sinai SponSors Photo Contest All entries must be mailed or delivered by 5 p.m. Nov. 5, to the hospi- tal and community rela- tions department of Sinai Hospital, 6767 West Outer Drive, or World Camera, Inc., 1580 Woodward, Birmingham.
