The second annual Ber-
nard Isaacs Memorial Aca-
demic Convocation will be
held 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the
Louis and Esther LaMed
Auditorium in the main
United Hebrew Schools
building. Mr. Isaacs was the
first superintendent of the
UHS and a Hebraist who
published extensively in
Hebrew journals.
Rose Kaye, chairman of
the Midrasha College of
Jewish Studies, announced
that Rabbi Saul Berman,
chairman of the Jewish
Studies department at
Stern College in New York,
will make the major address
at the convocation. He will
speak on "Current Value

BA degree and rabbinic or-
dination from Yeshiva Uni-
versity. He received a JD
degree from New York Uni-
versity School of Law and
an MA degree in political
science at the University of
California at Berkeley. He
completed his PhD degree
at the Tel Aviv University
School of Law.
Rabbi Berman has
published extensively on
the status of women in
Halakhic Judaism and
Jewish family life.
The convocation also will
include the presentation of
a Hebrew teacher's certifi-
cate to Jackye Drapkin and
tributes to the late Mr.
Isaacs. The convocation is
open to the public.
