Klein, who served as executive director of the Jewish Community Council for 13 years, died Sunday after a prolonged illness. He was 71. Many important projects were initiated and super- vised by the Council under his direction, including the close ties that were estab- lished with national agen- cies, in efforts in defense of Israel and in advancing the goodwill movements be- tween Christians and Jews. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Klein earned a BS de- gree in business adminis tration at -Ohio State Uni- versity and an MS degree in social science at Western Reserve University.
