NEW YORK — Dr.
Donald Feldstein has been
appointed the fourth execu-
tive vice president in the 76
year history of the Ameri-
can Jewish Committee.
Dr. Feldstein will head
the agency's 350-member

staff, with offices in 33 cities
in the United States, as well
as in Jerusalem, Paris and
Mexico City.
He succeeds Bertram H.
Gold, who is retiring after
15 years, but who will con- -
tinue to be associated with

Jewish Community Fed-
eration of Metropolitan
New Jersey. He spent five
years as executive direc-
tor of community serv-
ices for the Federation of
Jewish Philanthropies of
New York. He also played
a leading role in the de-
velopment of New York's
Project Renewal pro-
gram in Israel.
Before joining the New
York federation, Dr. Felds-
tein was professor and di-
rector of the Center for So-
cial Work and Applied So-
cial Research at Fairleigh
Dickinson University.
Dr. Feldstein has held
administrative and re-
search positions with the
National Jewish Commu-
nity Relations Advisory
Council, the Jewish Com-
munity Centers Association
of St. Louis.
