"We now have a kosher
restaurant (The Suburban)
open to accommodate people
with a kosher meal every
Wednesday evening, by
reservations. Therefore, our
hopes have been realized
and we must keep it going so
that we may be served a
kosher meal with our
friends and guests.
"Some time ago, I formed
a committee to support the
idea of a kosher restaurant
and now Mrs. Virginia
Kozin at Cong. Beth Ab-
raham Hillel Moses has
made it available to the
community."

"Last week we had dinner
at Benjie's on Orchard Lake
Rd. Our party of two couples
had the best fish we have
ever eaten in any restau-
rant in this area. The
variety of fresh fish and its
preparation was outstand-
ing.
"One of the husbands is
not a fish eater, but was
convinced to try the char-
broiled striped bass. He
loved it. The rest of us or-
dered scrod, whitefish and
lake trout.
"Benjie convinced us to
try his marinated herring
from Holland. Everything
from the appetizer to our
Apple Mountain Sundae for
dessert was a great. We
have dinner together two or
three times a month, and
this was one of the most
enjoyable we have had in a
long time."

"We held a wedding re-
hearsal dinner in Crickets'
intimate dining room
(capacity of 50) two days be-
fore (Drs.) David Siegel (our
son) and Sharon Cohen
Siegel, our new daughter,
were married. For eight of
our 25 guests, the special
vegetarian platter was-
ideal: moussaka, rice pilaf,
spinach pie and garnishes of
watermelon and citrus.
"Others chose whitefish,
steak and barbecued chic-
ken, each entree as appeal-
ing to the eye as to the pa-
late. Soup, salad with
sunflower pudding, straw"-

movies in the Detroit Insti-

ginning today.
Friday evenings will fea-
ture first-run works, Satur-
days will offer films rarely
seen in the area, and Sun-
days will continue DFT's
tribute to the more recent
movies of Alfred Hitchcock.

Detroit Theater weekend
movies through December,

Arts ticket office, 832-2730.

berry crepes and baklava
were 'best of kind' so that we
simply enjoyed our feast
in a most attractive, unhur-
ried way. And our meatless
platters, unlike the choices
most restaurants present,
were beautifully done.
"I'm delighted that Cric-
kets' hosts Eli, Philip and
sister Liz, will add my
suggestion as a permanent
menu item, `Naomi's Veg-
etarian Platter,' since it was
so delicious. And, having
traveled with serious veg-
etarians 'in the U.S. and
abroad, I'm aware that in
many restaurants the fare
is very limited.
"How delightful to have
added Crickets' to our brief
list of places the whole fam-
ily can enjoy, with no one
having to eat a tiny, boring
grilled cheese sandwich
while others dig into hearty
dinners. Meetings, chair-
persons and hosts sand hos-
tesses should check out
Crickets' modest prices and
the pleasant dining room in
this accessible shopping ar-
cade (Bloomfield Plaza on
Telegraph and 15 Mile).
Our family (Sharon is
daughter of Drs. Jack and
Joyce Cohen) got royal
treatment from this trio of
restaurateurs. Naturally,
we return often."
