Production Stable Despite War JERUSALEM. — Despite the war, during the past month Israeli industry has experienced no appreciable dropoff in production or ex- ports, Minister of Industry and Commerce Gideon Patt stated this week. Increased per. worker productivity of more than eight percent, coupled with the smooth functioning of internal and overseas transportation and services, has achieved over- all output 95 percent of normal and, almost com- pletely eased the foreign trade consequences of Is- rael's mobilization. For the first time in Is- rael's 34-year history, con- flict has barely inhibited local procuation or ad- versely affected overseas commerce, Patt said, report- ing a boost in industrial ex- ports (excluding polished diamonds) for the first six months of 1982 to $1.754 billion compared to $1:703 billion during the first half of last year, or a rise of three percent. June exports were $274 million, a dropoff of only 14 percent from June 1981, which was said to be an ex- ceptional month. Exports last month; de.: spite the hostilities, in- cluded: electronics,. $36 million or 55 percent over the same month of 1981; textiles and ready-to- wear, $36.4 million, four percent ahead of last year; minerals, 820.7. mil- lion, up 19 percent; chem- icals, rubber and plas- tics, $52.8 million, up three percent; wood, paper, light industrial products, $30.3, a 20.7 percent increase, and food products, $29 mil- lion, the same as June last year.
