has reported. -
The proposed legislation.
put forth by the Federal
Ministry of Justice, is to
take the form of an amend-
ment to the present wording
of the criminal code dealing
with material containing
insignia of Nazi organiza-
tions. Current legislation
merely prohibits the use of
publicity "at meetings or in
publications" of such Nazi
paraphenalia. •
According to the WJC
research arm, the Insti-
tute of Jewish Affairs, the
highly restrictive word-
ing of existing legislation
gave rise to a loophole
which made the sending
of Nazi insignia to Ger-
many from abroad possi-
ble.
The institute also reports
a related legislative pro-
posal which would allow
confiscation of material
even where offending publi-
cations have escaped pros-
ecution because of expired
statutes of limitation.

will be deferred for three
months, the Cabinet has de-
cided.
It acted on a recommen-
dation from the Army Gen-
eral Staff to increase man-
power while easing the bur-
den on reservists who will
be serving some 60-70 days
on active duty this year.
