The Wayne State Univer- sity four-year Merit Scho- larship went to Joseph Greenbaum, who also re- ceived the Yeshiva Univer- sity Belkin Scholarship and Gayle Selesny received the Stern College $1,000 Scho- larship. Akiva awards pre- sented were: the David I. Berris Award for Academic Excellence and Community Service to an 11th grade student, Naomi Millen and Deena Schramm; The Hayim Donin Scholarship to a High School Under- graduate Demonstrating Academic Diligence, Ar- thur Mermelstein; and the Jerry Silbert Holocaust Memorial Award for preparation of a Holocaust project by a high school senior in Is- rael (funded through the Tanzman Fund), Daniel Rosenthal.
