The Wayne State Univer-
sity four-year Merit Scho-
larship went to Joseph
Greenbaum, who also re-
ceived the Yeshiva Univer-
sity Belkin Scholarship and
Gayle Selesny received the
Stern College $1,000 Scho-
larship.
Akiva awards pre-
sented were: the David I.
Berris Award for
Academic Excellence
and Community Service
to an 11th grade student,
Naomi Millen and Deena
Schramm; The Hayim
Donin Scholarship to a
High School Under-
graduate Demonstrating
Academic Diligence, Ar-
thur Mermelstein; and
the Jerry Silbert
Holocaust Memorial
Award for preparation of
a Holocaust project by a
high school senior in Is-
rael (funded through the
Tanzman Fund), Daniel
Rosenthal.
Graduating seniors were:

field High School. At 9 a.m.,
Rose AZA 2 will play

Goode AZA. At 10:30 a.m.,
Hart AZA will play Samson
AZA; Benny AZA will play
Rose AZA 1; and Akiba AZA
will play Posen/Ruach AZA.
Rose AZA 1 holds first
place with a 7-0 record
while Beber, Goode, Hart,
and Samson AZAs are tied
for second place with 5-2 re-
cords.
The BBYO office will be
closed July 19-23 due to
staff summer assignments
and vacations.

serve on the staff of the
first session of the Chap-
ter Leadership Training
Conference which runs
July 21 through Aug. 4.
Arnie Weiner, BBYO di-
rector, will serve on the staff

The annual BBYO Kic-
koff Dance will take place
Sept. 25 at Southfield - Lat-
hrup High School. All chap-
ter registration must be into
the BBYO office by Sept. 24,
in order for chapter mem-
bers to be admitted free of
charge.
