LOCI:fU.A0:1

there is an expression, "re-
turning by popular de-
mand" . . . Brian Minard is
not In show business but
after two years serving as
assistant banquet manager,
he has returned to Wicker
Works in Northfield Hilton
as manager.
Brian has a colorful
background . . . He was an
advertising gent in Califor-
nia, writing songs for com-
mercials . . . a waiter on the
Curiard Lines . . . wrote
words to a not-yet-released
song with music by Paul

McCartney . . wrote a
book, "Wersea Sensa
Yuma?" (Where's your
sense of humor?) . . . was in
the janitorial business .
and created shows for the
British Broadcasting Co.
. . . including the popular
"Show Of The Week," one of
which was "Mercer Magic"
. . . a musical tribute to
Johnny Mercer.
Born in Liverpool in 1938.
Brian has also worked as
cab driver, air steward,
ship's writer, bacon picker,
docker, barman, sales man-
ager, carpet salesman,
electro-plater and roofer.
He is a published poet and
songwriter . . . and was
under contract to Johnny
Mercer for a song he wrote
called "Sanctify in Grace"
. . . His travels include
about 21 countries.
However, of all the people
he has met . . . stars and
royalty . . . Brian proudly
admits that the most in-
teresting are his two chil-
dren, 8-year-old Danny and
12-year-old Michele.
EVER HEAR OF the
Buffet Broomer? . . . This is
a person, usually woman,
who has a large ziplock
plastic bag in her purse .. .
sends up others to bring lox,
etc. back numerous times
with things for her to 'put in
the bag and take home.

PAUL LOCRICHIO

and his popular musical
combo is now at Hurley's in
Northfield Hilton, Crooks
Rd. and 1-75, Troy, through
July 24 . . . Paul has been
described as intimate, re-
flective, explosive and spon-
taneous . . . He is exhilarat-
ing and yet, in a way, relax-
ing . . . These are some of
the many moods of Paul
Locrichio.
From the time he
catapults himself onto the
stage with his opening
number, Paul takes his au-
dience through a mesmeriz-
ing maze of emotion.

MUSICAL REVUE,

"Who's That Woman" Fri-
days and Saturdays in the
Grease Pit Theater at
Doug's Body Shop on
Woodward, between Eight
and Nine Mile, has an all-
female cast . . . all about
women .. . and written only
by men.

LARRY NOZERO
Quartet schedule for Jazz

buffs . . . Mondays, through -
July 26 at Farmington
Holiday Inn . . . Sundays
July 25 through Aug. 29 at
the Crash Landing on De-
quindre in Warren.
DID YOU EVER wonder
how the ice cream sundae
came into being? . . .
said that it was the result or
a blue law . . . In the late
1890s, a city ordinance in
Evanston, Ill., prohibited
the sale of ice cream sodas
on Sunday.
One enterprising foun-
tain operator found the way
to outfox the bluenoses .. .
He served ice cream with
syrup instead of soda .. .
The concoction caught on,
and soon was in demand all
seven days of the week .. .
