While the Israeli Army was slugging it out with the Palestinian Liberation Organization and Syrian soldiers, a group of Israeli and Egyptian basketball coaches and got together, peacefully, at the annual Dial Coaches Clinic, in Monticello, N.Y. last month. The coaches received tips from such famous Ameri- cans as Hubie Brown of the New York Knicks, Bill Fos- ter of South Carolina, Lou Carnesecca of St. John's University and Pete Carril of Princeton. • * * Each Israeli coach who has been in the United States soliciting players, has been in touch with his Army unit and has volun- teered to return to serve at the front in Lebanon. In all cases, the coaches have been advised to "sit tight" since their services were not re- quired, at the moment. * * * At the recent meeting of the International Olympic Committee held in Rome, Chaim Glovinsky, - the doyen of Israel sports, was given a silver medal. The veteran of the Israel Olympic Committee, now holds the title of honorary president of that organ- ization.
