WHILE MANY eating
spots and niteries hold their
purse strings a little
tighter, Pat Archer has
done a complete-opposite at
Excalibur, Northwestern
Hwy. and Franklin, south of
12 Mile.
It's almost like being born
again . . . Excalibur origi-
nally opened Feb. 22, 1978
. . . taking over where
Hugo's and Brunetti's
couldn't cut the mustard
. . . and today again has a
completely new look.
The gazebo dining area
which was somewhat of an
Excalibur interior land-
mark, is gone . . . It was to
have been moved to the
corner where various bands
have done their thing .. .
The gazebo didn't fit and
also wasn't in accordance
with the new decor put to-
gether by Pat's former wife,
Darleen Archer, who came
to town for this project from
her Darleen's Interiors in
Newport Beach, Calif. . . . to
meld minds with Pat on the
totally new look . . . In the
gazebo's place is a private
booth.
lieve some of his new inno-
vations won't also be.
ANOTHER SILVER-
MAN'S restaurant will
open between first and 15th
of August . . . on Plymouth
and Levan in Livonia .. .
It'll be number four for Bob.
MARGE McCAIG,—\
waitress at Detroit Pres l
Club on Howard, is
efficient and personable .. .
Chef Charlie Pace should
make Western Omelettes if
people want them . . . No big
deal . . . Promotion of the
Detroit Press Club, not a
chefs desire, is much more
important.
