THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS
GREATER DETROIT CHAPTER OF HADASSAH
Hadassah Treats
War Wounded
As soon as it was seen
that the war was not being
opened on other fronts by
the Arabs, the wounded
started pouring into the
Hadassah Hospitals by
helicopter and by plane.
While many were taken to
hospitals in the North,
closest to the front, many of
the most seriously wounded
were brought to the Hadas-
sah Hospitals both at Ein
Karem and Mt. Scopus
where special care could be
given. Every department is
being taxed to its limits,
neurosurgery, opthamol-
ogy, intensive respiratory
care, orthopedic, the burn
center, etc. Psychiatrists
and psychologists are in
constant attendance for the
wounded and social workers
for the families.
One of our Hadassah doc-
tors, Eli Katz, while
wounded from strafing him-
self, continued treating the
wounded around him. This
war which is taking its toll
in dead and wounded has
cost the hospitals
$1,00Q,000 over its budget
already. They implore sup-
porters of Hadassah to ex-
tend their generosity in
these perilous times and
make additional contribu-
tions as speedily as possible.
The crisis in Israel is not
over!
The human dimension is
devastating. The financial
dimension is equaly so. The
Hadassah Medical Organ-
ization must have an im-
mediate outpouring of addi-
tional funds. We ask you to
make an additional crisis
gift to Hadassah.

A strong economy is the key to Israel's future. The
history of the Jewish people has taught us that our security
may very well depend on Israel's survival. Rising anti-
Semitism reminds us that we need Israel as much as Israel
needs us. All this is implicit in our pact with Israel.

Annette Meskin, President
we can't say it too often
show your concern for Israel
Therefore, we urge each of you, in advance of our Trib-
ute Luncheon, to begin thinking about your maximum
1982 investment in Israel bonds or other Israeli securities.
And also remember to turn your matured Bonds into a
new investment in Israel through re-investment.
CHAPTER PRESIDENT TO BE HONORED. HADASSAH CALLS ON ALL ITS MEMBERSHIP
TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED AT TRIBUTE LUNCHEON FOR ISRAEL BONDS.
