District State Senate seat.
A business administra-
tion graduate of Michigan
State University, Pickering
is assistant director of the
Michigan Mobile Home and
Recreational Vehicle Insti-
tute. He was an aide to
former President Gerald
Ford when Ford was minor-
ity leader in the House of
Representatives.
He has been a Republican
Party volunteer since 1972,
a precinct and convention
delegate, and in 1980 was
chairman of the Oakland
County GOP united litera-
ture drop.
