Lorraine Schubiner of the Helen Rosenberg Cancer Fighters of City of Hope and a national vice president, will speak at the conference. Attending will be Pearl Friedman of Chicago, Ill., Midwest regional director. Theme for the conference is "You, the Volunteer." Octogenarian Doris Gleit, Active JNF Volunteer At age 87, Doris Gleit of Southfield actively partici- pates in the JNF's Blue Box cleaiances. Driving her own car, Mrs. Gleit, who works from an index card file, covers every known Blue Box holder in her neighbor- hood — often collecting from people who trust their Blue Box coins to nobody else. This spring was Mrs. Gleit's most successful col- lection. Although she limits her driving to within 10 miles of her home (avoiding busy streets and freeways), Mrs. Gleit collected $462 in the recently-concluded JNF Spring Blue Box clearance. Her average for spring clearances, she said, was $300. Born in Detroit, Mrs. Gleit, with her late husband Michael Gleit, operated a men's and women's apparel store in the Detroit area until her retirement from business 10 years ago.
