The four-member group Kilimanjaro ap- pears Monday eve. . . . Stephane Grappeli takes over the P'JAZZ stage on Wednesday. Kilimanjaro's accom- plishments include a debut album which ranked in the top 10 for nearly four months on jazz charts and they performed at the 1981 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Stephane Grappeli is known as the "Grand Old Man of European Jazz" . . . entertaining crowds for more than 60 years . . . His mastery of the jazz violin and piano has touched audi- ences of all ages . . . The 74 year-old Grappeli is cur- rently touring the U.S. and appears with his youthful three-member band. He was with Nosherie in Lincoln Center at the time . . . Al did the affair himself . . . The party-givers pitched a tent . . . and he served 60 people bagels, cream cheese and salami and eggs made to or- der. It was so unique, those who attended still re- member . . . and he has re- ceived many parties as a re- sult . . . Last year, Al took two helpers . . . and did an outside party of all spinach and cheese omelettes . . . for 170 guests.
