TEL AVIV (JTA) — A
new 20 km (12 mile) road
was officially opened in
Galilee last week.
The road cuts some 20
minutes of travelling time
from Tel Aviv to Upper
Galilee and avoids all
built-up urban areas. The
highway follows an almost
level path and skirts around
the previous 600 foot drop
down to below sea level.

There are Christians of
Polish birth scattered
throughout the world who
remember Israel nostalgi-
cally as the home of their
youth.
Some of the more than
1,000 children, most of them
orphans of World War II
who found refuge in Pales-
tine, returned recently on a
pilgrimage. The 132 par-
ticipants in the SMO Israel
Tour, named for the girl's
school in Nazareth where
many of them lived from
1942-1947, paid special
tribute to Israel as the coun-
try that gave them a home.
