Tropical Courtyard.
HIGH SCHOOL and col-
lege grads this June can
bring their diploma to
Alfred's Restaurant in
Somerset Mall in Troy and
owner Al Loewenstein will
pick up the graduate's
dinner tab . . . Along with
that, the new grad will also
get a complimentary cake
and souvenir photo as a
memento of the occasion .. .
One dinner must be paid to
receive one complimentary,
so family and friends can be
included in the party .. .
The offer is Monday
through Thursday.

sume the role of America's
most celebrated madam,
Miss Mona, when the "Best

cently concluded a suc-
cessful four-year Broadway
engagement, but the move
was premature . . . The pub-
lic response was so great, it
immediately re-opened and
the popular bordello is back
in buinsiness.

Written by Larry King
and Peter Masterson, the
musical comedy is based on
an actual brothel in La
Grange, Tex. . . . and the
fight to keep it open.
YS'ssoo MEANS "To
Your Health" in Greek .. .
but the annual Ya'ssoo
Greek Festival held each
year by St. George Church
on Woodward, Y2 mile north
of Square Lake Rd. in
Bloomfield Hills, always
means a lot of good fun.
It's here again, June 18,
11 to 11, June 19, 11 to 12
and June 20, 11 to 11 . . . in
its ninth year and featuring
authentic Greek dishes,
Greek dancing to bouzouki
music, live band perform-
ances by Dino and the Con-
tinentals . . . plus Greek
dishes, wine and ouzo.
Ya'ssoo will again be a big
family affair . . . with Greek
boutiques, pastry shops,
specialty items, rides,
games and, naturally,
Greek Coney Islands.
RON CODEN SHOW is
Wednesday through Satur-
day at Mountain Jack on
Rochester Court in Troy.
THREE OF FOUR day
waitresses at Standard
Club North on Northwest-
ern Hwy. are former
Sammy "Lieberman and
Mark Stein fine waitresses
. . . Shirley Separa, Trudy
Bileti and Betty Kedzierski
. . . The gal who waited on
us recently, Phyllis Ran-
dazzo, never worked for
Sammy, but he would have
loved her smiling polite-
ness, efficiency and atten-
tiveness . . . Head bar per-
son, Kathy Stewart, is also a
smiling gal of much know-
how and pleasing personal-
ity.
11TH SEASON of Chuck
Muer's P'Jazz on the out-
door poolside terrace at
Hotel Pontchartrain opened
last Wednesday . . . with
Detroit-born jazz great
Donald Byrd a hit of last
year's Montreux Jazz Festi-
val . . . plus Detroit's popu-
lar Larry Nozero jazz quar-
tet.
Count Basie and his or-
chestra highlight the sec-
ond week, on Wednesday,
with the Trinidad Tripoli
Steel Band and the Notre
Dame Jazz Band on Mon-
day.
Such big name jazz per-
formers typically draw
1,500 to 1,800 people, some
300 of whom have reserved
seating, with the remainder
standing in what virtually
becomes a huge outdoor
cocktail party.

23RD BIRTHDAY was
recently celebrated by Lit-
tle Caesar Enterprises, Inc.,
the nearly 300-unit pizza
chain . . . For the celebra-
tion, Little Caesars teamed
up with another Detroit-
based company, the Fred
Sanders Co. . . . Each cus-
tomer in the Detroit Met-
ropolitan area purchasing
Pizza! Pizza! received an
individual-sized Sanders
cake . . . Little Caesars dis-
tributed over 100,000 pas-
tries June 1-7.
