Brodhead's Seat State Senator Doug Ross and Former State Senator Sandor Levin have an- nounced this week that they will be Democratic candi- dates for the 17th District Congressional seat being vacated by Rep. William Brodhead. In addition, a former Congressional aide, Jerry Rosen, has announced that he will be a Republican can- didate for Brodhead's seat. Levin, brother of U.S. Senator Carl Levin, was a state senator six years and was a gubernatorial candi- date. Rosen is a graduate of Oak Park High School (1969) and Kalamazoo Col- lege (1973). In 1971, he served an internship in the office of Gov. William Milli- ken. He was a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Robert Griffin for five years and earned a law degree at George Wash- ington University. He has published articles in sev- eral law publications and guest editorials in the De- troit News and Free Press. Rosen served as executive director of U.S. Senator Howard Baker's 1980 Presidential campaign in Michigan. He is an attorney with Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone in Detroit.
